Grid International Inc (tidigare Scientific Methods) grundades 1961 av Dr Robert R. Blake och Dr Jan s. Mouton, två världskända pionjärer inom beteendevetenskap, med specialisering inom individutveckling och organisationsutveckling.
Blake och Mouton skapade ett världsomspännande nätverk med konsulter, skrev tillsammans mer än 40 böcker och hundratals artiklar, och blev konsulter åt offentlig förvaltning, industri och universitet i 40 länder. Blake och Moutons och vårt företags arbete har legat till grund för oräkneliga andra publikationer, universitetsprogram och ledningsutveckling över hela världen.
Grid International Inc var först i världen med att genomföra en organisationsutvecklingsinsats i ett större amerikanskt företag. Blake och Mouton arbetade först med Exxon, där de finslipade Grid-metoden och demonstrerade dess förmåga att skapa framgång.

I Sverige startades Grid International AB 1990 av Per Engström. Bolaget ägs numera av Per, Anders Liljeroos och Göran Jaksch. Vi har knutit ett antal både företagsinterna och självständiga utbildare/konsulter till oss, som vi utbildat på samma rigorösa sätt som man gör i resten av världen. Vi arbetar med såväl små som stora företag och offentlig förvaltning. Ledarutvecklingsprogrammet Kraft att förändra är kärnan i vårt utbud med Teambuilding, Delaktig, Bygga partnerskap, Vässa ledarförmågan och mätinstrument för att mäta ledarskap och organisationskultur. Biographical Information for Dr. Robert R. Blake (1918-2004)
 Grid International (formerly Scientific Methods, Inc.) was founded in 1961 by Dr. Robert R. Blake and Dr. Jane Mouton, two pioneering behavioral scientists specializing in professional training and organization development. Blake received his B. A. degree in psychology from Berea College (1940), his M.A. degree in psychology from the University of Virginia (1941), and his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin (1947), where he continued as a professor until 1964. He received an Honorary LL.D. in 1992. He has lectured at Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge universities, and has worked on special extended assignments at the Tavistock Clinic, London, as a Fulbright Scholar. His Korzybski Memorial Address presentations were in 1961 and in 1982. He was elected to the Human Resources Hall of Fame in 1982 and chosen as a Management Laureate author in 1992. His writings were selected for inclusion in Great Writers on Organizations, 1992, (Pugh, D.S. and Hickson, D.J.). Dr. Blake is a diplomat in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. Drs. Blake and Mouton developed a worldwide network of consultants, co-authored over 40 books and hundreds of articles, and consulted for governments, industries, and universities in 40 countries. Their breakthrough text, The Managerial Grid, is currently in its fifth edition, has sold in excess of two million copies, and is available in 20 languages. Dr. Mouton died in 1988 and Dr. Blake retired in 1998, selling the company to long-time partner Bruce Carlson in Vancouver, B.C. in 1997
Sadly, after many years as a contracted advisor to the Product Development team for Grid International, Dr. Blake passed away on June 20, 2004. His presence and wisdom will be greatly missed.
